My life, for the past 17 years, has been a continuous process of growing and learning. Let me explain, that at the age of 23 I was bedridden with Lyme disease for 9 months. At that time, I allowed my illness to take over my life and my body.  Had I known then what I know now, I probably would've only been in bed for 3 weeks. It was that experience that helped me to change my life forever.  I have no regrets and since then my life just gets better and better.  I realize that I would not be the person I am today had it not been for Lyme disease.  Its funny how in some odd way, I am grateful for that experience. I do my best to find the hidden learning lesson and the positive in most of  life's situations and experiences.

Over the past 23 years I have worked in several different fields.  I have worked in offices in positions from receptionist to Office Manger to Director of the Department.  Currently I am a Life Coach.  I am certified as a Personal Trainer and Fitness Counselor.  I am a certified Hypnotist and Level I & II Reiki Practioner.  I am extremely intuitive, practice Thought Field Therapy and have worked with Kinesiology in the past. All of these modalities are instrumental in changing behavior and thought patterns.

I was born and raised in the Bronx.  I always knew I wanted more out of life.  I was a fast learner and was recognized with raises and promotions for jobs well done.  I did know that I enjoyed helping others and wasn’t sure how this would play out in my future.  But after my Lyme disease experience – I knew what to do.  The reason why that experience changed my life was because I was in a really bad place.  There was nowhere to go but up.  My Lyme was getting worse and worse.  My legs were paralyzed on and off; my fingers would get so stiff that I could not pick up a teakettle.  I would get migraine headaches that were so debilitating they stopped me in my tracks and I would be depressed all the time.  I was on several different medications.  My sister, who was and still is very supportive in my life, offered me some motivational type tapes to listen to.  She knew that someone had to do something to help me as I was falling deeper and deeper into a lethargic, depressed state.  I decided "what the heck, what have I got to lose"?  I couldn't do much else so why not give it a try.  After all, I was bedridden.  After listening to the tapes over and over again, I felt like I had the opportunity to create a new vision.  I now had the know-how to change my thoughts, which would virtually change my reality.  This is a great concept, I thought.  I had never heard anything like this before.  (The only thing that ever came close to it for me was learning about Christian Science.  I looked into it when I was a little younger.  I understood the message to be "mind over matter."  Basically the same practices and principles I live my life by now.  Just knowing about mind over matter back then, helped me get rid of stomachaches that I had for years). I decided I was going to use these newfound techniques.  To my surprise, within 3 days, I was out of bed and in the Drs. Office.  I said "Doc, get me off of all medications."  He said, "I've been waiting for you to say that." So he weaned me off of them.  Within 3 days I was out of bed, within 2 weeks or less, I was walking on a track and exercising at home. I was a new person already.

During the illness, my employers promised to keep my job open but when I told them I was ready to return they said that they were concerned that I would become ill again.  So they filled my position. Previous to listening to the tapes, I would have been devastated.  But with this newfound attitude was able to accept it and look towards a brighter future.  I was ready for bigger and better things in life. My new belief was that all things happen for a reason so I was ready for whatever life had to offer.  I worked in other offices for a while, while pursuing my interest in self-help through tapes, books, lectures, workshops and seminars.  I was working for a Drs. Office while also working for Weight Watchers as a Leader.  My field and passion has always been helping people so I decided to get into personal training and Life Coaching.  I lost a ton of weight after the Lyme disease, but I was still not tone and firm.  I decided to train at a local gym.  In the beginning I hired a personal trainer. I thought I had great symmetry and looked great. My good friend saw me in a shirt and said, "What are you doing?" Your legs are bigger than they were before."  I thought they looked great.  After all, they were firm and toned.  I then realized that I needed specific training for a woman's physique. Which inspired me more.  I got my body into the shape that I desired and thought if I could do this for myself, I could certainly do it for others.  At that time, I became excited about fitness and received my first certification.  First, I began training people that I knew.  I then got my AFAA certification.  I also embarked on an all women's lower body certification.  This helped me to reduce, tone and firm my lower body. With this newfound knowledge, I was able to help my clients to radically change their bodies as well.  Within a short period of time I began working at health clubs and managing them, as well as, training others.  I loved watching people transform their bodies which also gave them confidence.  Throughout this process, I was also teaching them how to change their mindset, how to visualize what they really wanted, and how to set goals to achieve their successes.  I had mini-client workshops on how to make visualization books, which I found to create lasting impact on their lives.  I am so convinced of the life altering changes that these workshops can produce that I still offer them on a monthly basis.  They are now called "Vision Workshops".  As you read my testimonials, you will see how the workshops help to create dreams and create a new vision.

I attended seminar after seminar, certification after certification.  I wanted to be a motivational speaker but fear held me back.  You could read about that in one of my articles. I attended a weekend workshop and hired a personal Life Coach. During this life altering experience, I decided that this was my life calling.  I could do this!  I love helping people.  I could help others to change their lives the way I changed mine. For me, this is not just a career; it's my ultimate passion! It is my mission in life. This is my destiny! We are the creators of our destiny!
